Time

.

Time

In vain
I try to hold
It back
But it slips away
Just like the cliched
Sand slips
Through the fingers

Time doesn’t seem
Fluid or granular
But still
Behaves like one
Always flows away
Unidirectionally
Unintentionally

When I try to wrap it up
In my dreams
Or memories
I end up
On a mobius strip

No two ends meet
Beginnings don’t
Always end
Endings don’t seem
To have
Any beginnings

In a world obsessed
With origins and ends
Time plays a
spoilsport
It keeps winding
And unwinding

A perpetual clock
That keeps our
World dancing
On its rhythm
Of Tick tock
Tick tock
